Stock Transfers
Stock transfers are very simple in Augtool. You essentially create a stock transfer, select a product to transfer from one warehouse to another, select the to and from warehouse and post the stock transfer.Â
Please note that the stock leaving will use the weighted average of the pile in the one warehouse and will affect the weighted average of the pile it is received on to. No costs are currently associated or added to the stock value for the cost of the transfer (we will be adding stock transfer costing - that will inflate the cost due to the transfer cost - later).Â
If you require more advanced stock transfer features please contact us. If you need internal stock requests, or transportation costs built into the stock, or picking and packing slips for instance. Â
As you can see above, the stock transfer created two stock movements. One Transfer with an Out direction of 10 tons of amsul with an actual value of 8000 and one Transfer of 10 tons with an In direction of 10 tons of amsul with an actual value of 8000. The estimated value column is telling you what the transver value would be if you used a the secondary costing method. It is very low because somewhere in the system, Amsul is valued in another warehouse at a fraction of the cost and the secondary method in our test environment is set to weighted average overall. The actual costing method in our system is set to weighted average per warehouse so the transfer uses and affects the weighted average of the warehouses it uses. This should surely flag to a user that something is wrong with the value of amsul in one of the warehouses.Â
You can now go and run a report for Amsul to see the different weighted averages in all the warehouses to spot the issue.Â
Multi Warehouse
A permission has been added for Multiwarehouse.
For stock transfers where all items will be moved from one warehouse to another warehouse, you simply select the warehouse 'from' and 'to' on top of the screen and all the items in the stock transfer will move from and to those selected warehouses. This means that once the 'from' and 'to' warehouse is selected, it is applicable to all items in that stock transfer.
In a Multi-Warehouse you would be able to transfer items for different warehouses in the same stock transfer. This means that the 'from' and 'to' warehouse for each item can be different. You can do this by first clicking the Multi-Warehouse box and then select the warehouse from and warehouse to, per line.
In a Multi-warehouse all existing transfers were changed from posting to received. It now has a Unit Received and a Unit Dispatched Column. A setting has been added that moves unit dispatched into unit received automatically. A 'stock transfer transport' table has been added that stores the transport or indirect cost. The total transport cost is divided into all the items in ratio with the number of units of that item.
R100 transport, NB 3 units, AM 2 units
            transport for NB: (3/(3+2)) * R100
