Units of Measure
Multiple units of measures can be created within Augtool such as quantity, kg’s, tons, each, litres’, bales and hours or minutes etc. The unit of measure created needs to be allocated to an item when you create one. An item cannot exist without a unit of measure.
As you can see above, a unit of measure is a simple thing to setup. You need a name, an abbreviation and you need to tell the system if it should force any item that belongs to this unit of measure to an integer. If you force an item to integer, it will always round up to the nearest integer.
Unit of measure conversions can also be setup within the system to indicate to the system how to convert from one unit to another. Should you have a weigh bridge device that read its weight on the hardware as Tons but you want to store the information within the system in Kg’s you would need to create a unit conversion from tons to kg’s but stating that the Kg’s is the Tons divided by 1000.
